Collaborations

The English Department of our school has recently participated in a Quality Education Fund (QEF) project titled ˇ§Promoting New Literacies in Hong Kong Schoolsˇ¨. The QEF project is conducted by a research team from the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong, sponsored by the Quality Education Fund (QEF). The Study will examine the new literacies practice of our junior secondary school students (S1-S3). It runs from January 2009 to August 2010, focuses on supporting the integration of new literacies in English language education in Hong Kong schools. Two F.1 classes and one F.3 class from our school are taking part in the project. They have to give a digital story telling presentation about a film which they are interested in through a slideshow or PowerPoint. Students will later share their comments to the other groups and write a reflection about this project. We believe that the project could help equip our students with the essential literacy skills they may need to tackle challenges ahead in the New Senior Secondary (NSS) English curriculum. Hope that all students who involved gain lots of fun and unforgettable experiences and enjoy the whole new way to learn English language.
